PROTEÇÃO INTEGRAL DAS CRIANÇAS E A EXPLORAÇÃO DO TRABALHO INFANTIL: Desafios no Brasil e ações inovadoras da Fundação Abrinq
Abstract
The article explores the issue of child labor, relating it to the concept of slave labor and its impacts on child development from a human rights perspective. The research highlights protective legislation for children and adolescents, emphasizing the importance of ensuring their fundamental rights and prohibiting child labor, especially in the educational context. Based on data from the UN and the Abrinq Foundation, the study shows that, despite legal protection established by the 1988 Federal Constitution and the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA), child labor persists in Brazil, often under conditions akin to slavery, particularly among children in poverty. The article stands out by linking child labor with contemporary slavery, suggesting future research for more effective policies aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, aimed at eradicating child labor.
