NATURE, CULTURE AND SOCIETY: reflecting on the environmental issue
Abstract
Since its genesis, humankind has evolved significantly in cultural, social, linguistic, technological, industrial, and economic aspects. However, despite this evolution, and with reference to environmental issues, it still falls short of the ideal, as certain actions regarding environmental preservation need to be reassessed. There is a growing perception of the necessity for greater investment in this area for the well-being of society. Considering the relationships between culture, nature, and society, the present study reflects on some of the understandings and behaviors of contemporary society, aiming to identify responses that contribute to the preservation of planet Earth through the adoption of strategies to prevent environmental crises. The general objective is to understand the environmental issue as a problem that must be addressed by everyone. A bibliographic research method was used to gather the theoretical information that supports this study. It is hoped that the actions of contemporary society will increasingly focus on the common good of all its members to ensure the survival of humanity on planet Earth.
